NARI of Southwest Ohio Awards Sixteen RotY Awards

Published January 24, 2026

NARI of Southwest Ohio recently announced their 2026 Remodeler of the Year Awards at their annual RotY Celebration event which took place at The Lodge at VOA in West Chester on January 22. Serving as co-emcees were Erich Eggers, II, CKBR, CGR, CR, President of Remodeling Designs, Inc. and Andrew Glasgow, MCR, UDCP, President of H. Glasgow Construction Co.

Glasgow and Eggers welcomed everyone to the celebration and expressed their excitement for being a part of this awards program. They emphasized how valuable RotYs are and how valuable they have been to his company over the years. These award-winning entries inspire ideas, show trends and describe just what can be done when Remodeling is Done Right.

Eggers explained why his team always looks forward to putting together their entries. He noted that companies should be prepared throughout the year to submit a RotY entry in November. It's so important to consider photography for instance and determine which projects are RotY possibilities. They discussed the collaboration opportunities with suppliers and noted that team entries are available.

Congratulations to everyone who submitted an entry, supported a project and/or hired a NARI member.

Residential Interior Feature Under $50,000 - Ceiling

This primary bedroom renovation turned a standard eight-foot ceiling into a striking architectural feature. A low-profile coffered ceiling was created using inventive framing and drywall techniques, enhanced with stained crown molding and integrated lighting. Recessed fixtures and a central light add both function and ambiance. The finished ceiling draws the eye upward, elevating the entire room and delivering a refined, custom look that transforms the space.

Residential Interior Feature Under $50,000 – Speakeasy Bar & Lounge

To improve flow and expand their main living space, the homeowners relocated their home office and transformed the original room into an upscale speakeasy bar and lounge. Removing the dividing wall opened the space to the newly remodeled kitchen, creating a seamless connection between rooms. The result is a sophisticated yet inviting area designed for entertaining, relaxation, and connection—adding both function and personality to the home.

Residential Exterior $100,000-$200,000

Overlooking a neighborhood pond, this Warren County home already had an outdoor space—but it was small and freestanding. The homeowners envisioned something larger, permanent, and seamlessly connected to the house. The project expanded the patio, improved access with safer steps, and created a covered outdoor area that feels original to the home. The result is a beautiful extension of the living space, perfect for enjoying meals, gatherings, and pond views year-round.

Residential Architectural Design Under 500 sq ft

This bathroom redesign reimagined a nearly 30-year-old primary bath that had remained unchanged through generations of ownership. Outdated materials and obsolete technology were replaced with a warm, modern design focused on comfort and function. Entertainment features were removed in favor of wood-toned cabinetry with integrated grooming stations and contemporary amenities. The result is a refined, luxurious space that honors the home’s history while fully embracing modern living.

Residential Addition $250,000 to $500,000

This project began with a serious challenge: a sinking kitchen floor caused by years of poor drainage toward the home. The solution was a bold one—removing a large portion of the existing structure and adding 1,200 square feet. The addition includes a new kitchen, walk-in pantry, laundry room, and full bathroom. Keeping the home dry during construction required hand-digging beneath the structure and carefully managing water flow. Expansion joints and isolation membranes ensured long-term durability. The final result is a level, functional, and beautifully expanded living space.

The design includes a bar and kitchenette ideal for serving food and drinks, with custom cabinetry designed for pizza baking, holiday hosting, and storage. A full-size refrigerator, wine chiller, beer tap, and display shelving support both casual gatherings and large events. A long L-shaped bar anchors the room, complemented by movable live-edge walnut tables that allow the space to adapt to any occasion.

Residential Bath Under $40,000

What started as a simple update quickly turned into a stunning transformation. This turn-of-the-century farmhouse bathroom evolved from worn and outdated into a polished, modern space. A quartz tub surround and sleek tile niche replaced high-maintenance finishes, while brushed gold fixtures added warmth and contemporary style. With each design choice, the client’s excitement grew. Today, this once-forgotten bathroom is a beautiful blend of timeless character and modern elegance.

Large-format tile and mosaic details enhance the shower, while built-in seating and storage improve functionality. Vanities at varying heights accommodate individual needs, and the finished space strikes a perfect balance between comfort, craftsmanship, and everyday practicality.

Residential Bath $100,000 to $150,000

This primary bathroom remodel was driven by the homeowner’s desire for a spa-like retreat that balanced luxury with function. The design team replaced worn finishes and outdated technology while working within the existing layout. Heated flooring, a curbless shower with built-in seating, improved lighting, and concealed storage elevated the space. Despite challenges from angled walls and a bow window, the team delivered a warm, intimate design that feels both elegant and practical.

Residential Bath $70,000 to $100,000

This project was about more than a renovation—it was about enhancing daily life. By reworking the layout and integrating thoughtful accessibility features, the team created a master suite that supports independence, comfort, and confidence. Wider pathways, a low-curb shower, adaptive lighting, smart controls, and an accessible vanity were all designed around how the homeowner moves and lives. The result is a calm, restorative retreat that prioritizes dignity and long-term comfort.

Residential Kitchen $100,000 to $150,000

These homeowners wanted a kitchen that matched how they live today—open, functional, and welcoming. Their original kitchen was small and lacked storage, while an adjacent sunroom went largely unused. By expanding the kitchen into that space, the footprint nearly doubled. The new layout includes a large central island, improved workflow, and seamless connections to dining and living areas. The result is a modern, cohesive kitchen that now serves as the heart of the home.

Residential Kitchen Over $200,000

This kitchen remodel transformed a segmented first floor into a warm, welcoming hub for cooking, entertaining, and everyday life. Improved flow connects the front entry, kitchen, and living space, anchored by custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, and a spacious island. Thoughtful details—including a retractable-door coffee cabinet and hidden speakeasy—blend beauty with purpose. Structural challenges and uneven flooring were carefully addressed, resulting in a bright, functional kitchen that truly reflects the homeowners’ vision.

Residential Kitchen $150,000 to $200,000

This farmhouse kitchen found new life without losing its historic charm. After years of design attempts, the homeowners finally landed on a warm, inviting layout centered around family gatherings. A spacious open pantry adds functionality, while a wall of windows brings in natural light and beautiful outdoor views—so important that upper cabinets were intentionally sacrificed. Though hesitant to reinvent such a cherished space, the homeowners embraced the transformation, resulting in a kitchen that blends tradition with modern comfort.

Entire House $250,000 to $500,000

This whole-house project included three major additions and a significant interior remodel. Two garage additions expanded the home’s footprint, while the original garage was transformed into a stunning great room with coffered ceilings. A new bedroom suite was added for the children, and major structural issues were addressed along the way. Years of settling required removing the existing garage floor, rebuilding the foundation system, and pouring a new slab to stabilize the home. The result is a thoughtfully expanded, structurally sound home designed to serve this family for years to come.

Entire House $500,000 to $750,000

This tri-level home had undergone previous renovations but still lacked flow and functionality. The main level felt divided, the kitchen was undersized, and storage overwhelmed the dining space. A full-home renovation addressed these challenges all at once, including kitchen and bathroom remodels, new flooring, updated entertaining spaces, and fresh finishes throughout. The homeowners temporarily relocated to allow the work to be completed efficiently, and the result was well worth the move.
